I restarted eating eggs.
I had stopped eating eggs few years back.
I had in fact stopped consuming dairy - butter, milk, cheese, and trying to become a responsible human being. I never turned fully vegan, but the consideration was always there. I would still like to do things which don't harm animals which are inclusive and respectful.
Through my last 2 years running journey, I have had an occasional Ghee or cheese when unavoidable.
But I didnt use any milk, cheese, eggs, or any other forms of dairy in my day-to-day diet.
And I didnt face any tangible downsides. but I missed eggs.
There are a few things which I'm fond of when it comes to eating or drinking.
Eggs used to be one of them.
They took me through my life even when things were hard.
When I went to university in Madurai the food in our hostel mess was bad.
The only thing which helped me survive my first semester was eating an omelette at lunch every day.
They may serve anything, but I would get an omelette made of two eggs.
When I started traveling to US and UK, having access to an omelette or scrambled eggs was the best part of the meal.
I couldn't care for anything else as long as I could get some salad and some eggs, I would be a happy camper.
About a year back I was in Austin.
Over dinner talking to my CEO on health and other considerations we started talking about eggs.
he is a fanatic for playing tennis every week.
After seeing my training for Marathon, he recommended I focus on not getting rid of eggs at the very least.
We started talking about the amino acids and the whole profile of nutrition.
He shared his experiences of his friends and affects of eggs on our body.
We finished the dinner at some Asian restaurant, agreeing to disagree on the benefits of eggs.
I didn't see any tangible benefits in my running or the loss of it after having quit eggs.
But I missed eating eggs.
More recently I decided that let me get back and see what happens.
Last five days or so I have been eating two eggs every day.
I like a well done omlette with vegetables. Whatever is available in the fridge and a little bit of green chili added.
Sometimes I mix up mushrooms.
Sometimes it's bell peppers and sometimes just chilies and onions.
I love it.
Since the time I've started to eat eggs here are the difference I have noticed.
I am full until 130 or even 2 o'clock. With My usual breakfast I would start to crave food or start the urges of eating by noon.
I don't see any difference in my running and working out.
I've seen better sleep and better recovery. My Garmin watch shows that I am recovering very well from my past day running or past day workout session.
So let's see where this takes us but eggs are back on the table and I am back on blogger too.
cheers
